Love Story

Little were we to know that in the most ordinary of moments our extraordinary love story started. Both studying different Teaching degrees at Federation University in Ballarat, we somehow one morning found ourselves in the same overcrowded early morning tutorial. With limited spaces, Aaron thankfully found an empty seat next to me, becoming a familiar and friendly face for our next random encounter which occurred not long after on a weekend where we both found ourselves in Lorne, each of us out with friends at the Lorne Hotel. Our friendship developed over the next six months with support in the completion of our studies- bump ins at uni, an encouraging message here and there and regular check ins whilst we finished our final teaching rounds.

When we finished our degrees and longed for more chance encounters, we started to get to know each other as more than uni buddies and begun looking for love in what we knew all along was the right place. It didn't take long to know just how fortunate we were to have found the best kind of love in each other. We grew together, found and fell in love with our darling furbaby, travelled to parts of the world we had always dreamt of visiting and worked to create our dream life together.

Then one special day, five years on from that Lorne random encounter, Aaron asked me to marry him back right in that special spot by the sea. Dreaming up and planning our wedding wasn't just about one special day for us - it was the first day of the rest of our next adventure and life together as husband and wife.

The Day

“Our wedding day was one of the most love filled days of our entire lives. To have the day arrive after dreaming it up for such a long time we were utterly overjoyed and filled with gratitude. With so many highlights of the day, it would have to start with our ceremony and seeing each other for the first time, it was if all the nerves washed away and all that was left was the most beautiful sense of calm and love. Standing there pledging our love and commitment surrounded by our most treasured people was so important to us and we loved sharing these moments with their love and support felt so strongly.

The intimate moments of our wedding day will always be so strongly engraved in our memories and heart- the first embraces from our close friends and family after our ceremony, post ceremony celebrations with our bridal party under the stunning canopy of the tree we were married under, golden hour spent canoodling and trying to capture time, and our heartfelt and hilariously shared speeches. The energy that comes with celebrating love is always something spectacular and the atmosphere on the dance floor reflected this with the day ending on the biggest high!

An unexpected joy of planning a wedding for us was meeting so many passionate and talented vendors. Thankfully we connected with the most incredible group of professionals throughout the planning process, who provided great support and expertise leading up to and on the day. All vendors were absolute standouts in their areas of expertise and this was showcased even more so with the way they harmoniously came together on the day, supporting and working with each other to ensure the day went as fabulously as it did! We loved meeting the individuals and teams behind these wonderful businesses and have so much appreciation for their part played in helping us create the most perfect day.

Alongside our vendors, we have so much appreciation for the incredible team at Rocklea Farm who well and truly helped bring elements of our wedding dreams to life, creating the most stunning ceremony and reception spaces to make lifelong memories with our nearest and dearest.
