Our Love Story

In the words of our lovely celebrant Jessie Belle, Shane and Cassie met where all great modern romances start, Online dating of course!

After I (Cassie) made the big move to VIC from NSW back in 2014 I decided to throw myself back into the dating scene and online dating was all the rage! I never thought I would meet my partner in life within 3 months of living in the state but from the first day we met (for an express lunch break date) we were instantly comfortable in one another's company and it was almost like I had known Shane my entire life.

We had so many fond memories of holidays over the past 7 years of at Shane's family caravan in Barwon Heads we decided to make the move to Geelong from Melbourne and then chose to get married on the Bellarine as we have fallen in love with the region.

After 3 missed wedding dates in 2020 (thanks to COVID), we finally made it down the aisle on the 21st February 2021 but only just! It was only 3 days after the 5-day snap lockdown; it was a miracle we managed to get all my loved ones in the state from NSW and we are so grateful.

The Day

Where do we start! After coming out of a snap lockdown 3 days prior ot the wedding and after a year of in and out of lockdowns our wedding day was just magical. The ceremony by Jessie Belle summed up our love story perfectly.

The day was filled with so much love and happiness, especially as this was the first time in over 13 months which I had seen all my family from NSW.

Our photographer Jake Hogan really captured the day exactly how it was, a great party celebrating our love and it really felt like we were being photographed by a best mate! We all had so many laughs along the way.

We got so many compliments on our wedding flowers on the day, which was another last minute change due to our wedding date constantly changing seasons haha! Erin at Florette really took my vision and elevated it 100%. Looking forward to my wedding anniversary flowers by Erin each year (hint hint to my new hubby haha)!

Special mention to our amazing wedding coordinator Rylie Jabornik (Truffleduck) who was a super star on the day and made everything so seamless. She helped us organise a last minute surprise for our guests as we wanted to make the day extra special to celebrate the end of lockdown by having our favourite cocktails to be served along with dessert on the day (Espresso and French Martini's).

Really wish we could do it all again the day goes by so fast but so grateful we managed to make it down the aisle. We are so lucky to have such amazing vendors in the Geelong region and could not imagine getting married anywhere else!
