Emma & Aidan
Our Love Story
Aidan and I met at university in 2013. We were both living on campus and soon became great friends, initially bonding over late night snack runs and nights out. We were close friends for about 18 months before things started to change between us and we moved out of the friend zone. We have been together ever since and have built an amazing life together.

The Day
We went into our wedding day knowing of course that everyone would be there to celebrate us and that it was going to be one hell of a party; however, I don't think we were prepared to be so completely overwhelmed with all the love and generosity of our guests. It truly was the best day of our lives.
Our day started separated with each of our crew, we didn't opt for formal bridesmaids or groomsmen; however, got ready with our closest friends and dubbed them the 'unofficial bridal party'. We did this as we didn't think it was necessary to have everyone wearing matching outfits or, flowers to make people feel special. We just wanted our favourite people with us wearing whatever made them comfortable! I hope this doesn't sound bad... but we really didn't miss having them play a part in the ceremony (they were so involved in every other aspect!). I mean after all it is about us and we just wanted to keep it super simple. We didn't want to do any of the wedding traditions unless they made sense to us.
We also opted for a first look at the creek down the back of Batesford Hotel. We wanted to do everything we could to settle the nerves as we're both not very comfortable in front of a crowd or being center of attention. After this we had lunch at Batesford Hotel with both of our immediate families and our 'unoffical bridal party'. Our photographer Jake suggested this, and I am so glad we did it. It meant we were guaranteed to spend some quality time on our wedding day with the people that mean the most to us.
It was raining the morning of our wedding and so I reluctantly accepted that we had to go with the wet weather plan and have our ceremony in the marquee at Rocklea Farm. I don't know why I was so reluctant! The marquee was stunning and all our guests were so much more comfortable! If there was one thing that I learnt it was to completely trust the professionals, they are the experts and know best!
We were so lucky to have such an amazing crew! It's such a weird process to pick a whole bunch of vendors that haven't necessarily worked together before but completely nail the brief regardless! Our flowers were stunning, the hair and makeup girls brought such good vibes, our photographer Jake was phenomenal and felt like a mate we had known for years, Jessie our celebrant kicked off the wedding with such great energy that continued throughout the night, the food from 63 degrees was to die for and plenty of it! Rocklea farm was just such a stunning venue and Glen and Dave made me feel so relaxed as I was so confident that everything was taken care of. Lachie read the room and provided the best entertainment, even had grandma up dancing!
We had the most amazing day and as everyone tells you, it went SO fast! We had the best time celebrating with our friends and family but also will treasure the moments where just the both of us could escape and soak it all up!
