When someone from our industry gets hitched, of course we need to share it! Kirsty has worked in various events roles and not long after her big day concluded, she ended up working for one of her incredible suppliers - Elderberry Events!

The planning process for Kirsty and Shaun started out pretty cruisy. They knew what they wanted, who they wanted to attend and to keep everything nice and simple to ensure they both enjoyed the day. Covid-19 had other plans in the lead up to their March 2020 wedding when all of a sudden, the world was flipped on it's head, on the verge of lock down. I remember the conversations with Kirsty in the lead up had gone from cool, calm and collected to understandably stressed. And I honestly wasn't sure if it would go ahead in the final few days before the wedding, but she was soldiering on like the absolute trooper she is. As Kirsty and Shaun had planned a small wedding, it was allowed to go ahead, but not as originally planned. Kirsty is originally from New Zealand, and has virtually all of her family in New Zealand. Due to the rapidly changing restrictions, this meant that the majority of Kirstys family was unable to attend in person. It was an absolute miracle that Kirstys sister flew in from London just before the borders closed. But the family were still a part of the day and were all dressed up via video conference for the duration of the festivities.

The day was such an incredible and emotional one that featured so many of Geelong's great wedding suppliers. From the marquee and furniture by Elderberry, the beautifully spoken words by Nicole Penning, delicious grazing table by Daily Food Co and drinks (including espresso's) by Tom Collins Caravan Bar.
