Olivia & Mitch

Love Story

Olivia and Mitch met the modern way – with a swipe right in 2018. Olivia was drawn in by Mitch’s moustache, and Mitch was instantly won over by Olivia’s looks and warm personality. One year later, Olivia (and her cat, Bean) moved in with Mitch, and soon after they bought what they fondly call their “asbestos dream home” – now shared with their two beloved dogs, Herb and Basil.
They love dancing in the kitchen, adventuring on “boomer” country road trips (rating bakeries and dreaming of farm life), and just making each other laugh. While on one of those road trips along the Great Ocean Road, Mitch hid a ring in his swim shorts and proposed on the cliffs above Loch Ard Gorge – just minutes after Olivia teasingly called him a sook for skipping a dip in the cold ocean.
The Day

True to their relaxed and joyful nature, Olivia and Mitch spent the night before their wedding together, starting their big day with a calm breakfast in Queenscliff. With a guest list of just 50 for their micro wedding, they skipped the bridal party and got ready separately with their nearest and dearest – no stress, no early wake-ups, just good vibes.
Their sunlit beachside ceremony, led by Jermaine Clarke, was heartfelt and simple. Olivia walked down the aisle with both her parents to Sea of Love by Cat Power – a song she'd dreamed of for years. Their dogs, Herb and Basil, were the ring bearers, and their perfectly timed “aisle dip” at the end of the ceremony was a hit after months of living-room practice.
Photos with Alysha from Hey Babe Photography captured everything from the beach to a visit to a local ice cream shop (with free scoops for the newlyweds). Meanwhile, guests enjoyed champagne in the 360Q lookout tower overlooking the bay. The reception was full of personality – from a DIY-decorated room with op-shop vases, thrifted candlestick holders, and flower farm blooms arranged by Olivia and her mum, to personalised temporary tattoos, ring pop favours, and a playlist of early 2000s bangers.
Their reception outfits? Meshki and Crocs – the perfect combo. The photobooth was a crowd favourite, and instead of a DJ, the couple's custom playlist brought the energy. Guests danced the night away – some in Kmart thongs – and the newlyweds say they wouldn’t change a thing.
With a savings plan in place and priorities set, Olivia and Mitch had everything they wanted and nothing they didn’t. No debt, no pressure – just a day full of love, laughter, and meaning.
