Katherine & Sam

Love Story

Katherine and Sam first crossed paths in high school, but it wasn’t until the later years that their friendship truly blossomed. Regular Friday night movie sessions, Harry Potter marathons included, laid the foundation for a strong bond, though their romance didn’t begin until university. A chance dancefloor kiss at a party in their third year sparked a love story that would last a decade and counting.
Their relationship has always been grounded in friendship, something they believe makes for the strongest kind of love. Over the years, they’ve lived in share houses, travelled across the globe, built a home in Torquay, and added two beloved pets, Nina the cat and Reggie the dog, to their family. Having grown together through so many seasons of life, Katherine and Sam’s story is one of joy, history, and genuine connection.
The Day

Carefree, fun, and exactly what they dreamed of, that’s how Katherine and Sam describe their wedding day. Their celebrant, Archie, set the tone beautifully with warmth and humour, creating a relaxed ceremony before making a surprise return to the dancefloor later that night, saxophone in hand, alongside DJ Milo, ensuring the party well and truly came alive.
Held at the picturesque Terindah Estate, the day was full of thoughtful details. One standout was the couple’s escape to the beach in the venue’s 4WD cart for private photos, a moment of calm and connection before rejoining their guests for cocktail hour. Their grand return? Nothing short of iconic.
Catering was a non-negotiable for the couple, and Truffleduck delivered in every sense, from the personalised menu selections to the generous recovery lunch the following day. Guests raved about the food, and the ability to choose from multiple mains was a crowd favourite.
Katherine’s whimsical vision came to life through bold, joyful florals curated by Erin from Style & Grace. The decision to colour-block centrepieces by table added an unexpected and delightful twist. Complementing the vibrant palette, their signage and stationery featured bold blues and yellows, even her shoes made a statement.
From dancefloor disposable cameras to heartfelt speeches and a DJ that kept the vibe electric, the night was one big celebration of everything and everyone they love.
