The Day

Just five days before their wedding in March 2020, Milly and Chris found themselves cancelling due to the start of our first lockdown due to the pandemic. Thankfully, most of their vendors were able to reschedule to their new date in March 2021, and the day was worth that wait!  

Milly and Chris describe their wedding as the day of their dreams, down to every little detail. Held at Milly’s family farm just outside of Geelong, the planning and preparation for this one-of-a-kind wedding and it’s 200 guests was a little more than they expected. That's where wedding planner and stylist Luci from Poni Studio came in, and she was worth her weight in gold! Forecast to be an unusually wet day for March, Luci was able to organise a complete Plan B wet-weather ceremony set up with ease. And while it rained all morning, Mother Nature held back her plans just as the wedding party arrived for the ceremony. 

Milly and Chris’ vision for the wedding was to celebrate their love by throwing a massive party for their loved ones, with a focus on quality food, drink and entertainment. They had a stellar line-up of vendors who truly delivered on this vision! For them, the standouts were the incredible food and service provided by Truffleduck, partnered with the amazing drinks service by Boutique Event Co (including an endless supply of delicious espresso martinis!). Elderberry Events went above and beyond working with Poni Studio to create the most beautiful marquee set up, with gorgeous florals from Jacinta’s Flower Studio. Undersky Events created a beautiful glamping village for guests to stay in overnight, with over 40 bell tents dotted along the farm’s creek.   

It was hard to pick just a few highlights from the day, but Milly and Chris definitely agree the ceremony was one of their favourite moments. Officiated by their close friend Sarah, the whole ceremony felt incredibly personal, genuine and full of love. Not to be outdone however, their first dance was a complete surprise for their guests, with the couple performing to "All Night Long" by Lionel Richie, choreographed by the amazing Roshin from The Next Step Co, to really get the party started!
