Tahnee & Dan

Our Love Story

It was good old Tinder that brought us together. Tahnee had recently come back from an overseas trip with her brother and was wide awake at 3am with crazy jet lag, scrolling through the many suitors on Tinder (or lack of!) and came across this cute nerdy looking guy with bright blue eyes. He wasn't the usual guy she would swipe for but there was something about him that just caught my eye and my curiosity! Tahnee decided to swipe right and BAM we matched! Tahnee found out later down the track that Dan on the other hand had initially hesitated to swipe right on my profile as he thought she was "too beautiful" and must be a fake profile!
Dan initiated the first move with a simple message starting with something along the lines of "Hey, I'm Dan", followed with a nervous GIF from the comedy TV show "Community". Tahnee remembers laughing out loud when opening the message and replied instantly, keen to know all about this guy!
We contacted each other everyday for two weeks straight, messaging back and forth and chatting on the phone until Dan was finally brave enough to ask me out on a date.
It was the 1st of December 2017 when we were to meet in person for the first time. There were literally floods in Melbourne happening that night, but this didn't stop either of us from meeting up in Fitzroy at a bar called Black Pearl.

There was an instant connection between us, and we stayed at the bar for over three plus hours just chatting, laughing and getting to know everything we could about each other.
Our next date was a game of mini golf and pool in which we both found out how competitive we both are. In fact, we have kept every score card from mini golf we have played ever since that date,
It was only 9 days after our first date when Dan asked Tahnee to be his girlfriend.
We have so many amazing memories over the years. Travelling together, with our first holiday to Tasmania being our favourite. Purchasing a block of land together in Lara (Dan's parents live in Geelong and we absolutely love Lara and hiking in the You Yangs) It just seemed like the perfect place to build our dream house and hopefully one day start a family.
Our other favourite memories are adopting our two foster kittens Toby and Charlotte (we are crazy cat parents!) and when Dan proposed on Balnarring Beach - Tahnee spent the first three minutes literally yelling at him to stop teasing and joking around as I was convinced it was a fake ring!
After Dan proposed I was instantly on a mission to find the most perfect wedding venue. We wanted barn with a real rustic feel to it, so the moment we saw Rocklea Farm it was love at first site and knew it was where we wanted to get married.
The Day

May 15th 2022 - the windiest day you could imagine! Tahnee remembers sitting on the chair in the airBnb, getting her hair done, looking down at this incredible view thinking "Im going to blow away out there!". Of course, I knew it didn't matter if it was rain, hail or shine - this wasn't going to stop us from having the most incredible day of our lives, although my veil on the other hand might not agree!
Standing in the barn, arm in arm with dad, surrounded by six gorgeous bridesmaids, Tahnee had one last minute to decide if she should stick it out and wear the veil in this windstorm before Dave (from Rocklea) gave her the nod that it was time to walk out. Tahnee stuck to her word and walked out wearing the veil. It was very short lived. she remembers walking out and instantly getting smacked in the face. She was trying to keep calm, walking towards her almost husband and about 100+ guests staring at her. After walking approximately 100 meters with her veil flying around in the air, smacking both her and her dad both multiple times again in their faces, Tahnee stopped her dad, let go of his arm, ripped the veil out of her hair and threw it over her shoulder on the ground and said "C'mon Dad". According to our guests and our incredible celebrant Jessie Belle, it was a "mic drop moment" - all of course caught on camera and video!
Our celebrant Jessie Belle could not have summed up our love match anymore perfectly. There was laughter, tears and pure happiness from start to finish, with so many people complementing how amazing she was after our wedding. She truly is a diamond in the rough!
Our florist Ebony from WIldfolk blew us away with her gorgeous design of my bouquet, the boys buttonholes and the sensational flowers on our wooden arbour. I gave her a few images of inspiration but let her run wild with her imagination - she blew it out of the park!
Our photographer Christopher, accompanied by Sam captured every single moment perfectly. They made us feel so comfortable from the get-go and had us laughing all day - you can tell by our photos! They were blown away by Rocklea farm and we had an absolute ball walking in the fields and taking the most unique and beautiful photographs with the sun going down, surrounded by nature.
Kimberley Moore was an instant love match with us! As soon as we had our first zoom meeting we knew she was our videographer! Her bubbly, friendly and outgoing personality was exactly what we were looking for. She made even the shyest of our guests comfortable to be on film.
A special shout out to Dave and Glenn from Rocklea Farm. They welcomed us with open arms the moment we meet and were superstars on the day, making sure everything ran smoothly and perfect. They helped us with so many venders and gave us wonderful ideas to help make this day one to remember.
My beautiful dress was from Grace Loves lace and couldn't recommend them enough! An Australian designer with each gown being handmade in Australia. The stylist and extended team were so helpful from start to finish.
The day went by so fast, and we really wish we could do it all over again. Our vendors made our wedding vision come to life and couldn't imagine a wedding without them all!
